This is a beginner friendly class designed to introduce you to the basics of quilting. Students will focus on acurate cutting, strip piecing, sewing borders, and learning to read patterns. Students must be comfortable with threading and operating their sewing machine.
Supplies: sewing machine (you must know how to thread and operate your machine) & basic sewing supplies, fabric and pattern will be purchased separately. Fabric and supplies can be picked up prior to class.

Built in the 1840s, the historic Buttergilt Building is home to the Quilt Foundry. Today, the structure retains much of its original appearance and materials, and since the early 1980s has welcomed a variety of tenants, including the Quilt Foundry. It is believed to be the area’s oldest factory structure still in commercial use.
